Forum slow to load up...attn techos

hey guys,
I am finding that the forum is loading up really slowly on my connection.
I have an Optus Broadband cable connection, so I am struggling to figure out why. It seems as slow as a dial-up connection.

Any ideas?

Same here, but 70% of the time is ok, somtimes i get page cannot be found, i thought it was my connection, i am on BB but all other sites a fast as! so must be a server problemo..

Doh. I tried using persistent connections, but obviously, that didn't work.

have been having toubles lately. FIne at the mo but.

I got opt Arse too. So connection is not the problem.

Sometimes it just sits there loading for ages for me. If u leave it and come back it seems fine though. Also i give up with pictures when it gets like this

all i noticed is that the avatars don't load up every now and then.

I think we're just experiencing the woes of lots and lots of users. We have finally come to the limit of one server 🙂

Many times I just switch on to something else that Will load up...

I'd hate to have this problem on Bradband...

Very frustrating...

Found the problem...

18:02:09 up 5 days, 5:58, 1 user, load average: 11.35, 7.25, 5.28

The system is 11x busier than 100% utilization. ie, for every process that wants the full CPU, there's another 11 that also want it.

Need more grunt.

Get a Paypal account and have 'Donations' i am sure many of us will donate to a good cause like AVD, then get more grunt!!, i will use one of my spare accounts to do this if you want me too!!

I will talk to our hoster about getting us onto a lower usage box. wallace.myownserver.net is shared with a lot of other users as well. Maybe we can be moved to a box that is not so used.
