nice, i saw a bug almost the same as that oval ragtop in UltraVW mag a few months back. same vintage and colour but has no ragtop. I think it may be the same one 'cuz the guy who used to own it sold it to some guy in the OC who may have put the rag in. it is one sweet ride.

It might be but it was in Memphis Tenessee which is a long way from california, it did have a 60s rag in a 50s beetle but it was very very clean.

isnt this the most wicked find, 58 Buick Special, no rust and it runs too.
I found it today while shopping for steel. I got lost in the absoloutley worst neighbourhood I have ever seen, inclunding that, that I have seen on TV.
dead cars sitting on their floorpans, all the lawns were 3 foot tall, people were living in houses that were half burned down and unstable, Pardon me for not stopping to grab snapshots as I was preoccupied by the groups of 40 or so Black teenagers noticing me being the only white guy in a 5 mile radius, trying desperately to read a map and not stop to do so.

These teenagers and people in their 20's were all standing on the road, like I was driving through a market place, by myself, Did I mention the fuel guage was running under empty too.
The Buick was about 2 miles from that neighbourhood.
There was also a 64 mustang coupe in a similar state just around the corner.
Just thought I would share that.

My nicest car sits oustide, whethering rapidly while my Kombies, a 59 and a 64 both in the exact state I got them in, from wrecking yards, where they had resided in the open wheather for 20 plus years, sit snuggly in my garage.
Doesnt make much sense!
I guess We better get a garage big enough for all my cars and Doug too.
