You got the E-mail then, I can assure you there is on one more disappointed than me.
The following is an e-mail I received from the shipping agents today.
"In answer to your email, like you we are very unhappy that the eta of this consignment is now showing
5.11.04.
We have spoken to the shipping line and they advised the following reason have caused the delay.
1) Original sailing of vessel ex Felixstowe was delayed due to vessel arriving later than expected from inbound voyage
2) Later sailing date from UK meant the vessels arrival date in Singapore was also later than expected and that the
nominated feeder vessel from Singapore to Brisbane had sailed before the UK vessel arrived.
3) Feeder service is only fortnightly and therefore that is why the new eta is now 5.11.04
4) Unfortunately as we pointed out to you in our email of 13.9.04. advising situation of overcapacity of cargoes from Europe to Australia not only with Transhipment carriers but also the Conference line direct services are equally effected. This problem is ongoing and even with the recent General Rate Increase imposed on 1.10.04. vessels are still full and often shutting out even pre-booked containers.
The shipping line apologise as we do for the problems caused to you and your customers and trust you can see that the delays were not of our own making and we very much hope that you will entrust further shipments to us."
As you can see nothing can be done, please accept our sincere apologies, your patience is appreciated.
Cheers
