Garage sales!!

I was reading the garage sale section of yesterdays paper, looking for camping gear, when the letters VW leapt out at me.
You know the deal; dis, dat, the other ting, household items, VW parts.

Trotted down there at the advertised time & the VW parts were extractors for a 2 litre kombi & a beetle manual.

Wasted trip........not quite.

I ask the guy if that was it. NO

Tucked in a corner of the back yard is a complete (67??)beetle. Sad but salvagable.
I pick it up next Saturday.

Remembering that I was going looking for camping gear, & bought a Volkswagen, as you can imagine I'm as popular as shit in a hat with the lady Melanie. When she sees it, I may find myself sleeping in the tent I was meant to be getting accesories for.
#1 son is over the moon, this will be his when it's done.

I'm losing my touch though. Here's a beetle 4 blocks from home & I didn't know it was there.

If Jim reads this: Do you remember when I bought a beetle roof rack at a flea market & you said -but I don't own a beetle? I told you it made perfect sense to me to have a roof rack then find a car to put under it.

Tell the wife it's an investment for #1 son, All drivers should be made to drive a VW by law at least for 1 month.
