ok people a guy up the road from me has an old rusted out parts kombi for his good one but the wife wants it gone and he wants to part it out.
the deal is if i can find people to buy the fridge, cupbourds, seats, bed, poptop.....etc then he will sell me the 2 litre type 4 twin carb engine for 250 bucks. (this engine was rebuilt 10k ago...bargain!) anyway people its got that kinda fake veneer panelling over the cupbourds and fridge etc they all match and are in great condition also anything else u want off the kombi ......you come take it off and pay the man and take it away easy.

the hinges on the cupbourds all have a bit of surface rust but the condition is good.
The fridge is an electrolux 3 way
i dont know what kind of pop top it is but it works well and just needs a hose from what i could see.
the bed is great and just have a roof rack on top of it at them moment. i beleive this roof rack to be for sale as well.
front bullbar good conditon and front mesh visor also in good condition.
sliding door has rust under window seal and has sliding window so rick has first dibs on the window.
steering wheel in good nick
i dont think the seats are for sale as he wants to put them into his good kombi ill find out about that.

Hey Nick,
If the sliding door is rusted out then I'd be interested in the mounting brackets, front lock and handle, rear arm, rear lock etc - that is all the fittings inc screws nuts and bolts.

i dont think he will want too much for the roof racks they are a little rusty it is the rack that goes over the front in front of the pop top. make an offer.
the owner is going to make a post on this thread in the next couple of days regarding prices and what he wants gone and what he wants to keep. however in a couple of days he is going on a school camp for a week ( he is a teacher) and so finalising purchases will have to wait untill after then however he has some free time after the camp to be sorting out purchases.

OK attention interested parties.......all sales of parts from this kombi are going to be put on hold untill the owner returns in a weeks times from friday. after this it will be possible to finalise sales and part out the kombi. this is easiest for myself and for the owner as then there will be time when both of us can be around for people to pick up or have a look at items...

you could still use them. they sit over the front drivers compartment. they are designed like this so they do not impede having a poptop but you could still use them if you didnt have one. they just sit at the front of the roof.

Hey Nick,
With the sliding door can you tell what condition the hardware - locks, latches, catches, support arms etc etc, are in as this is all I am really after of the door - if someone was after the sliding window out of it fine they can also have the door exclusive of hardware.

the engine was recoed about 10k ago which was a couple of years ago the bus hasnt moved in a couple of years he used to drive it around but it got too rusty and he bought the orange one he now drives.

i will inspect the hardware on the sliding door tomorrow. the door isnt the best example ive seen so its pretty much useful for the sliding windows and the mechanism anyway. blue bus is coming to collect a few things tomorrow morning when ive got some spare time for a couple of hours. so ill post up whats gone and whats still left.
Mike M you should be right for most of that stuff however i do know that blue bus should be picking up the sliding window and the rear side window you wanted but apart from that

OK people PRICES!!!!!
dash cluster = 70 bucks. includes tacho which is apparantly a moon tacho however is made in japan.
deluxe steering wheel = 50 bucks
3 way fridge = 250 bucks (only thing wrong with it is the return spring in the sparker for gas is broken needs new spring)
roof rack is free to someone who takes it away upon closer inspection is is rather rusty on one side and might not be any good unless you can weld
bullbar = 50 bucks
side step = 20 bucks
windscreen = 10 bucks
any glass = 5 bucks a peice
pop top = 150 bucks with fibre glass top vent with embossed VW symbol
gas bottle box = unknown condition really 30 bucks
all the cupbourds = 80 bucks including sink
hub caps = 1 buck each (3 of)
engine lid = 25 bucks
sliding door mechanism = 10 bucks
front beam = 120 bucks
the front windscreen guard isnt for sale
the passenger side rear glass with no qtr vent is still available but the drivers side is gone.
waiting on a price for the bed seat as condition needs to be determined.
i will not be available for a few days as i am moving house however after then we will organise everything.
all this stuff is come and take it away unless other wise organised by me you will have to get it out of the van yourself.

this is fraught with a lot of ifs but I would be interested in the windout window assembly, just behind the driver, if the rubber is anywhere near reusable , BUT as I will be going up the to the Gold Coast 4th December I could not get there until probably the 6th December at earliest, I will at least express my interest though

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the update.
If you can get the hardware off that would be great.
As posted previously the main things are the sliding door mechansim at the rear of the door, the catch to hold the sliding door open (attached to the body requires removal of slide cover on the body, Latches at rear and front of door and handles & top and bottom roller. From what I seen you need spanner, screwdriver and allen key to get it all of.
Let us knowif I can help as may be able to get up there to help out. 😉

Cheers Nick, got the directions OK, will see you at no. 7 Sarus Rd about midday. I'll bring all the tools I need, trailer etc. I've never pulled out a poptop either but will probably just take the canvas, the lid and the hold down doovries anyway as the base unit of mine is in good nick, don't want to disturb all the interior lining etc etc. I'll have a drill to remove the poprivets holding the bottom of the skirt down, the battery drill died but will bring long extension cord and electric drill plus an angle grinder in case any of the screws, nuts etc are rusted in, as well as any sockets, spanners etc I think I'll need.
