I'm going to be posting all the questions I have today - and just put them out there once and for all in order to get some feedback and finally make some decisions (going round in circles at the moment)....
So please bear with me and all help and advice greatly appreciated......
I have an unregistered 71 superbug with a 1500 engine in it (from my 70 wreck). I have to sell the superbug - but wondering if I am better of trying to sell it as a whole (with an engine) - or is it just as easy to get rid of as a body or sell off parts?? With the engine in it - I would be looking at around $1500 (tbc)- what would I get if it was sold off for parts (approx.....?) and what is easier to sell??
Thanks all....

what condition is the body rust wise

without knowing EXACTLY what to look for and where to look (although i've learnt quite a bit through here), I would say it's pretty good - ie haven't really seen any - maybe some surface rust (if that's what you call it) on the inside guards.
It's currently in country vic at Gazza's dad's place so would have to take some close up pics if anyone wanted more detail - but i really think its quite good (we bought it to swap over onto our 1500 which is crunched up - before we knew that superugs and 1500's don't mix - doh!!)

look in the following places bottom corners of the windscreen, in the rain gutters, both sides of the rear window, under the back seat where the battery is and under the guards. i bought a complete sbug for a body for $500 and it had a little rust in it

Thanks for that - so when looking - if I can't see any rust through the paint does that mean I can consider it 'no rust'??
It was originally blue and it's been painted over with black - and had some body parts replaced I think(??) but I wouldn't call the paintwork good (in fact very patchy) but it's straight, no dents at all.
But do you have any advice on with/without engine in terms of $$ return (ie complete or parts??). We need the $$

well if there is no rust visible you might get up to a grand for it but you would need some one who wants one for that price. i was looking for one of these a couple of months ago but im not sure if you will get for it as it comes down to what some one is prepared to pay

Ok cool - so coming from a different angle - do you know what a good 1500 engine is worth??

a couple of hundred easy mate. ill put it this way a rebuilt motor will cost from about 1 grand up depending on how modified it is
