if you get onto your local council. they can give you a guide as to the regulations and spacings. then you jsut go ahead and do it. if therefor you ever get busted for an illegal shed, at least it is to standard and easy to get passed. i have done this with three pergolahs, a carport and a shed on past houses.
youcan get the gal brackets to support your beams from bunnings. they even have free brochures on plans and howtoos.

Go down to your local carport shop and copy what they do.......:thumb
