is there a certain code on kombi motors 2 tell wat thay are (eg 1600 1700 and so on ) want 2 make shore my engine is 2 l ??? dont know much about kombis now i own one time 2 learn

there is only one real sure way to check and thats disassemble the motor and measure the pistons

Usually 1800 engine nos start with AP
1975 2000 CJ or GD
1976 2000 GE
1977 2000 GE
Hydraulic tappet models start at GE 00007 083

Never seen a DC number before....is that on the Fan housing or the crankcase?
If you look at the Crankcase just in front...or behind...depends which way you look at it....but anyway, between the oil breather and the fan housing will be the engine number as well, see if this matches the number you got

have had a look the number look wright but is dark and think its CA not dca just CA??????? the number is nere the coil sort off ????

OK, CA means 1700, the number near the coil is the Fan Housing number...like I said there are 2 numbers....check the one on the case like I mentioned

ther are 2 numbers one on the tin were above coil and one on case bside coil CA046427 so its a 1700 ???

These are pics from an upright conversion, but shows you where the 2nd number is.

You can see the number is across from the distributor. and it must be stamped on the case, not the tinware.
