Difficulties buying a car

I am looking at buying a bug.

It is more that worth the $$$ (well to me) It is not cheap, but it is complete to a standard i am more than happy with. NO WAY could i do it for myself for the $$$

It is interstate.
So i have to hand in the plates and blue slip it.

It has been registered since 9/03.
It has not been registered since 94 at least before that.

Now to register it in NSW i just have to blue slip it and hand $$ over.

NOW....................

When restoring it they lost the compliance plate. Was taken off to spray underneath it and was never put back on.

I have spoken to NSW RTA and they say i need 2 year history of registration. The rego the seller has is only 13 mths.
I cant get the other RTA to tell me the history cause it is micro fische and i am not the registered owner.
But they indicated to me they have track off the VIN number i have been given


IF i can get a print out from the other RTA when i buy the car off the bloke you reckon it will be plain sailing through RTA here???

I reckon it is ligit. The seller has a stat dec saying what has happened and he got it registered.
Just a bit worried about handing $$$$ over AND THEN trying to register it.
