A pretty momentarse occasion for me, after 16 months of late nights ive got my 67 on the road. I got it for $700 after it was sitting in a shed for a few years. Did all the panel/paint myself, took it back to bare metal & painted in ppg acrylic, my first attempt at painting a car and im pretty happy with it, not perfect but better than expected. also painted the pan/beam in por15, replaced most rubbers. Redid all the brakes, bearings, seals etc. painted the seat frames and re-upholstered the seats, intstalled a custom headliner (vinyl snakeskin :P) plonked in a 1600 dp than i recoed after making the bell housing more accomodating. Re-wired to 12 volts. The only thing I didnt do was weld in the avis adjusters on the beam, so thanks volksaffair fellas :thumb. Got the chromework redone and had the steel rims powdercoated.
goodies include 6v popouts, delswift mirrors ( from bocka64), unity spotties, rear venetian.
cheers, Chris

Congrats on a good looking Dub!
Its such a good feeling to see a finished product,More so when you put most of the work into it yourself.
Good to see another VW saved from being taken to the scrapers.
bugboymatt ·
mate you done a very nice job on your ride.
congrats
himmell ·
Cheers, thanks for that!, the only problem is that its been pissing down here in Melb. and I'm not too keen to take it out in the wet. Its also good to annoy the wife again after hiding away in the shed after so many months:party

Schweeeeeeeet..!!!! Nice and clean. How effective are the front indicators?
himmell ·
The indicators seem to reflect pretty well within the housing, I thought the vicroads fella would pick up on it but he didnt mention anything about it during the inspection.

Thanks for all the feedback, ill try and get some more pics but I dont have a digital camera, borrowed my neighbours for these pics. The whitewalls are just those flaps that sit on the rims, cant remember his name but I bought them off someone from this forum.

I am not sure that we want to know that you are tied up, what youget up to in private stays there okay!!
Sweet car, so getting rid of the heater boxes was a sign that all was at an end then? I hope mine turns out even halfway near that.
that is very cool, congratulations.

Very nice ...love the name ..... cute...
AVWPC asked if I wanted my indicators set into the headlights on Bel my 58....they've done it to a couple of beetles but I hadn't seen how they look so was unsure and went the Harley bullets.... it does reduce the clutter on the bumper...OR leaves room for other accessories
....lol penguin.....yes too much info there :blush 😀

hey chris
how you doing
think you need to fit this to coconut:duh
kick some ricer butt with this:thumb
himmell ·
Mate if i put that on the nut it would self destruct, besides im getting too old and in no hurry to get anywhere .
Have you heard that story about the old bull and the young bull?. The young bull looks down the hill and says im gunna run down and shag one of those pretty little cows, the old bull says, sounds good but im gunna mozy on down nice and slowly and hump them all. boom boom!.
:party
