It was a great day, I wasnt going to enter the bus as most on here know I dont agree with other people judging some ones work, especially if the judges havent restored or worked on a car, especially a bus themselves.
I am glad I did go as I met loads of people, who loved the bus, also it was great to hear that there are quite a few more splits being built here in little Adelaide. Good job the bus isnt a show car, as when I got home I noticed all the hand marks all over it, I encoraged people to get inside and look around, more people interested the more chance of seeing more on the road.
I might also have to start a wedding hire company, as I have been asked if the bus could be used to deliver the bride a week on Saturday and also for next year, Ill post some pics of it in ribbons.
It goes to show how many people visit this site and dont log on as I had about 50 people coming up to me asking about ClassicVW (pacifc), I know I have given them a few good raps about their service , but I didnt know that so many people would want to know more about them.
Seems that word is getting around about a new boy in town?????
Might have to ask Roy about some commission,

our tour group from Club Vee Dub Sydney flew in for the weekend, n had an excellent time, travelling around the Adelaide Hills on the Saturday, unfortunately the Drag racing and cruise was cancelled, so we enjoyed the afternoon up around Handorf
We arrived around 8 at the show and was a little disappointed, by the lack of attandants and swappers. The show soon started to fill up, and it was a great change to view some cars we have not seen before

T'was a good day, as the day progressed more and more cars turned out and was also good to speak to Dave about his newly completed '57 Splitty, got alot of info from him on his resto and gave me even more enthusiasm to get my '63 standard on the road.
Dave I've got to give a date to book in for the wedding next year, before ya book out!

Give me a call and we'll organise that bulkhead for you, As I said , I can get you one for nothing, just want to see more on the road.
It was amazing the amount of people that asked if I wanted to sell it, I wish I had done 2, sold one kept the other.
But then again it took3 and a half years to do one, so no, I"m glad I didnt.
There was a beetle there and the owner must have been moving interstate as he had his suitcases on the roof.
I was thinking of doing the same thing Paul, we could have gone on holiday together., Its lowering time I think!!!!

It always seems to be the way when you get to an event...trying to find the forum people...it's hard...usually you find yourself asking the non forum people who look at you dumb :duh
It's a nice relaxed event...and you do have some nice rides over there .... n now I can say I've been to a Volks Fest 😎

The beetle cake tin I bought was great ..... we came up with all sorts of uses for it.....I can have beetle shaped food every day of the week....n d dog can use it too .....AND I thought I could only go as far as baking a cruise of beetles :party

I took my camera and didnt have time to take any shots.
The thing I like about the show is its very casual, shame it was a dry zone.

I live 3 streets away from the wreckers(Volksauto who are one of the few places in S.A. that have old parts) and about 500 yards from VSI.(the shop with the goodies).
This area is a bit of a VW heaven.

Dave/57kombi we did notice a lot of VW's living in the area...we were getting whiplash from too much head turning :thumb
