hey all,

Does anyone know if you can fit a capilliary type oil pressure gauge in a bug?

Quick response needed!

Thanks all!

...no reason why you couldn't...but you will have to run a mile of copper line (is that what they use now?) if you want to be able to see if from the drivers seat! I, personally, feel that an electrical sender style guage would be the better alternative in a bug...

The nylon tube is probably too short for use in a Beetle..
I don't like the idea of all that nylon tubing...
I know it probably won't happen... but it could leak...
I prefer the VDO electrical senders and gauges...

you can run a capillary system oil pressure gauge in any car. but why?????
they tend to use nylon hosing these days... though if you really wanted to you could use copper or stainless steel... but it is usually easier and safer to use an electric sender and gauge.
I have seen a few lines broken etc and engine fires caused by incorrect installation etc... even know of a guy who copped hot oil in his lap whilst driving because the fitting blew off the back of the gauge.
