The_Bronze. ·
Waz thinkin Angels myself. Love all the others Sax listed as well.
Aussie bands ruled in the 80's. The Gov't needs to support our record industry a little more instead of these crap TV shows. We have so many great garage bands and very few of them actually get past their first single sold locally.
Bronze.

What about "Take on me" by Aha, loved that one at the time.
Also, Crowded House, Billy Idol, Richard Marx, Peter Gabriel, Dead or Alive, plus all the ones you've already noted.
I liked the the poppy ones when I was the younger but them got into the metal later.
Top albums; Van Halen's "5150 and 1984", Michael Jackson "Thriller", Oils "10 to 1", Gunner's "Apetite for Destruction", and that's just to name a few.
mmm, the good old days.

Funny story re spy v spy. I was travelling around oz 5 years ago, and stopped over night at Eucla. That evening we drove down to the Telegraph Station and drove past Craig Bloxom lead singer of spy v spy. I pulled over and asked him what the heck he was doing out on the Nullabore. He was apparently travelling over to WA to hook up with some band over there. Of all the places to run into someone.
Had to have some words with my wife last night. She found an old Mel & Kim tape and was playing that. "Take or leave it, honey please believe it, you aint never gonna be respectable....." Can't get the damn words out my head now.

Swet,
I think their original drummer quit to become an artist or something. But that was way before they stopped touring and things.
squizy ·
Cliff Grigg the original drummer quit because he wasn't interested in the things that Craig and Mike Weiley [the guitarist] were getting up to. Basically he caught them in a compromising position.
squiz....

Daddy Cool, James Reyne, Darryl Braithwaite.....

eeewwwww...
damn. Now I'll have that pictrue in my head when I hear one of their songs... will never quite be the same now. I wonder who he was singing about when he said 'but was there a day when we didn't argue? argue?'...
I think I was happier when I though the became an artist. You are very up on them, did you know them personally or something? (no complaints, just interested, they were a great band. Good on vinyl/disc, but fantastic live act)
squizy ·
I just love 80's music trivia I suppose. Went to a lot of spies gigs in the 80's - the always blew me away [pardon the pun] with their live act. Yeah the early stuff was great. I even had a lend of their first EP "Four Fresh Lemons" and taped it years ago but can't find it anymore - it's a bit hard to come by. They would actually refuse to play stuff off it at gigs. My fave song was always "one of a kind" off the Meet us Inside EP. For those Novacastrians it had a picture of the band in front of the wreck on Stockton Beach.
Not sure how I found out about the Craig / Mike saga - I think it was one of those known, but not talked about story's. My wife has friends in the industry, and it made its way from them through her to me.
