Still cracks me up after 5 years how here in Oz we have our quarterly throw outs. Not done in the UK . Okay alot of the stuff is broken or has parts missing but not always the case. Alot of folk are putting stuff out as they cant be bothered selling it or what have you. Plain crazy!! Really good stuff just tossed out , all sorts of gear , amazing. Anyway a little note to all that think it is beneath them to stop and have a quick look......
I drive around all day in my job and see heaps off good things. I enjoy nothing more than screaming up in the van , jumping out and pushing old guys around for a bargain!! Bloody pensioners! 馃榾
Today i grabbed a Sony music system , not a mark on it. Its a top of the line system complete with a turntable. The stylus had never been used. Massive speakers , 3 cd player , remote etc . All works fine! Sounds really good , ,looks the biz and is mega loud!! Gotta be worth $250 !! Why would you throw this out????? My garage will be rocking now , thank you very much!!
Then just up the road as i passed someone was just throwing a faded purple" chopper" push bike , the one with the gearshift that you catch your knackers on! Had to be patient as someone was already eyeing it up but too shy to take it. Took it for a blast ( fell off!, LOL)and it's 100% or will be when i've adjusted the gears!! Go on!!! More stuff crammed in my van!!!
Finally as i'm heading up the stairs to my unit my neighbour asks me if i can give him a lift with 2 settees. I go have a look and theres 2 perfect 3 seater settees , nice oatmeal kind of colour , nice fabric and a few big cusions to match. No tears or horrible marks , whats going on?? I asked him why he's getting rid of them and he says he can't be bothered selling them , advertising etc , no time. His Mrs ( god bless her ) wants a total change in decor and the settees wont go , again i say " bless her cotton socks". These are only 3 years old for freakin sake!!! Eastern suburbs , more bloody money than sense. Wouldnt take any money for them , glad i want them????? Anyway they are in my garage now all wrapped up!! Saves me now buying any seating for when i move next Feb.
So in an afternoon i have scored a very nice Sony stereo , a very retro pushy ( although i'd look a complete knob riding it )and some cool Italian made settees , well over a $1000 worth of gear for nowt!! Keep you eyes peeled and dont be too proud to stop and have a quick look.
The final note on this is how it relates to my VW
As i will no longer have to buy any settes the $700 i had put aside for some new half decent ones will now be spent towards the Notch instead!
Whats that? I can hear something calling... Can you hear it?? There it is again.........
