This should be a great chrissy present. would be fantastic to find in the stocking so i can read it while trying to look interested when the inlaws come over :duh
Hopefully it will be mailed out early next week i'm told??
This book is a sight to see, if you buy imported books and mags and don't get this your missing out on the Aussie story of VW in this country. Do your self a favour and order one now. I'll post a copy of the order form that was in our club mag.

Only 250 limited editions so be quick. Reserve your copy with Rod or Lorraine on phone number from the previous post.
WA guys can buy this direct from the Pitstop bookshop.
HotRodMatt ·
I think this is the one my dad used to drive when he worked for BAT!
t3man ·
this version is not available through bookshops, only through AF Publications 039720 1153😎

Have just found out that 2 VWA movies are on the DVD that comes with the Limited Edition, one is 'The Shape Of Quality' - a 30 colour film on the Clayton manufacturing plant featuring the faithful Beetle and Type 3. The images and quality of this film will insire you I'm sure. The other movie is yet another Aussie VW film titled 'Young is the Land' - a 15 minute colour film depicting Australia in the early 1960s, naturally with their Volkswagens. Here we see some plant workings, transporters and a brand new Ruby Red Beetle at the beach. Nolstagic fun!

Got my limited edition in the mail today and it looks awesome. Have watched the DVD and it is really interesting. I can't get over how everything was done by hand. Just loved their method of testing the brakes ...... drive off the ramp, jump on them and come to a screetching halt !
P.S I am number 38, no special reason,

Get in quick as this is a once in a life time chance.
Great book to by the way.
Job well done!
OvalSplit ·
I want one!! Bought the normal one, but have to get myself one of those limited editions with DVDs!! How much are they?
Stealth ·
$150 for the limited Edition. Worth every cent, ring rod on his number located in this post on the first page.
If you buy one of the standard editions ($77) from a book shop like technicle books shop and the like, it does not come with the VW parts box. Only mail orders from AF publications or Phone orders to Rod. Also the limited edition ONLY comes from Rod via mail order or ring him direct. Once the limited edition goes there will be no more of them produced.
The current VWMA edition has a write up on this book plus ordering info. I think Bill Moore in Sydney has a few as well to buy from.
