pyr0 ·

WTF !??!?!?! get digging, imaginer the stories you could tell "so what you draged ur's out of a paddok......i dug mine out of the ground"

warb ·

whats that dude smoking..... i want some...... then im ganna go for a drive....

Gnorerteetorf ·

Weez still diggin! This wun gunna take a while. The guy built his house around it. He reckons its all there, we salvaged the tail gate earlier this afternoon, almost perfect! Has sign writing on them, but indistinguishable. The 16" rims are straight as, safaris appear rust free, a little pitting around the corners, unfortunately missing the speedo pod, but factory right hand drive. The way we are going, his kids are going to have to sleep in the shed! Had to remove two housing stumps to get close to the action.
Will keep you all posted!

pyr0 ·

thats so koool😎 where about you from mate ? just wondering if ur in OZ wheather i should start looking under houses 4 dub's

frenzix ·

hahaha thats fantastic... let us know if you need a hand

Gnorerteetorf ·

Yeah I'm in inner Melbourne. The guy that owns the property worked for the VW factory in Clayton. He said that if I remove this, I can have all his NOS parts. Does anyone have a speedo pod for a barndoor?

frenzix ·

any more piccys??

Anthiron ·

who builds a house around a partially buried kombi? u would dig it out and then build.......still very cool though and a kick ass story to tell at a show when its fully restored:bounce

Gnorerteetorf ·

Still digging!

Anthiron ·

go hard mate it will be worth it

Gnorerteetorf ·

The majority of the dirt around this thing is landfill, therefore doesn't seem to be affected too much by rust. We've just got to the front bumper, which is still in one pice. Will need considerable work to make it good, but all there all the same. Doesn't appear to be too much rust around the nose cone inner and outer, but the running gear looks to be cactus. The guy reckons we only have until dawn to remove. Demolition of the yard begins 23rd. Oh thos 16" rims. Found 2 spares in the tray.

frenzix ·

this is too funny.

65busser ·

Hang on!!!! That looks like my old single cab that I owned in the early 70's. Was nicked from outside my place one night and was never seen again!!! Bastards buried it!!!

Looks abit short, could just be cut behind the cab although might be deceptive camera angle, need a better side shot,
might be not all not true, still classic, has got us all captivated though.
