I just downloaded some German equivalent of 'pimp my ride'. It's in .avi format and spread over 5 parts. A wicked bay window bus gets worked over including new hipo motor, HUGE wheels, and what looks like at least a 6" roof chop!
I have the first part available on my website if any of you want to download it - I'll leave it there for a week or so and then add the other parts when i get back from Summernats.
Does anyone on the forum know German? Maybe they could translate some of the specs and re-write them back here on this thread? I'm sure a lot of us would be really interested!
Anyone going to Summernats from the forum? maybe we could all meet up for a beer?

do they show the whole job, all the messy bits, or just talk about which expensive parts they've got for it?

In part one its an intro as well as showing them picking up the bay on a trailer etc (wish i knew what they were saying!), tech-wise they show the motor being rebuilt (condensed of course) as well as the rust spots getting re-platedas well as the wheels turning up. I reckon all up the whole show must go for about 40 mins to an hour? (that's all 5 parts - part one is about 9 mins in length)

just watched it. the link above worked for me.
The rust repair looked dodgy! they just used some self tapping screws to fix steel plates on top!
I was disappointed that they didnt put a performance engine in it, looked like a stock 1600 SP that they just detailed.
Bit disappointed it was in German, would have loved to have understood what they were talking about

you might need a different codec to play avi files if you are getting the sound ok. what are you playing it on?

I like it. I've been watching each episode in anticipation of what they will do next. What size do you guys reckon those wheels are?? I want some for my bus, and where do i get some disk brakes like that??

Any chance you can put them back up again once you have done the others?
Just got 4 but dont want to watch it yet without seeing 2 + 3!

the brakes they are using are brembo kits. but if you want to go four wheel discs, try the CBB kits at custom bugs and busses. i got em on both my bus and ute. you can always paint the caliper any colour you want.

Yeah I saw that smoke. Tactfully ignored by the guys though. Can't believe they thought that interior was the way to go! The paint and the skirting looked pretty awesome in the end though.
