Anybody else been through this? I have my hearing later in the month and am not sure whether I want to pay a solicitor for what I may be more than capable of dealing with myself. I think I have an open and shut case but who knows. Any advice/experiences would be appreciated.
Cheers
Chris

ALWAYS.....ALWAYS, take a soliciter with you.
Rest assured the opposition will have one.

whatnow ·

good luck with it.... though it sounds you shouldn't need it.

I've been through it.Always take a solicitor with you...then they know you are serious and they will not try and pull the wool over your eyes.My case was also open and shut but they were adament that they were right. Someone who can say " blah blah relevant to case blah blah" who does this type of thing regularly is good to have on your side. Good luck!!🙁

I am going through this now.
Well i will be😀

I got given the arse because i defended myself after a customer punched me in the side of the head.
So i laid him out on the ground and then held him there till the cops got there.
The guy then tried to press charges against me for assult, but the cops wouldn't charge me.

But work still fired me because we aren't allowed to retaliate.
That is what our panic buttons are for, we are just supose to get the shit kicked out of us and wait till someone shows up

Good luck with it.
ohh and the old lady says take a solicitor with you.
She is one😀

or the employee

sax ·

You must have a solicitor, not cheap but essential if you are to be taken seriously.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I was the employee Astro and got fired for refusing to work until my 2 weeks wages that were late were brought up to date. gave my job to his girlfriend and still owes ma about $2k which I'm chasing him for.

hmmm,

I'm owed some money by the same establishment (substantial deposit paid almost exactly one year ago for goods never supplied) and have
just taken the first legal steps for recovery after repeated promises of a refund and no follow through.

I'm going to post the full story (hosted on my own domain but
I'll put a link here) if the first legal step brings no result...

I absolutely hate being played for a sucker and a fool and am
the most tenacious mongrel you'll ever cross if the need arises!

With holding wages is not fair, I would be asking for interest on the lost wages, if the money had been paid to you when it should have it could be in your bank account collecting interest.

Robo ·

You got every right not to work until you get your money, he's gone. But take a solicitor, you wont regret it!
Rob...😎

It is sad when a business has a lot of things going for it. Location, history, enthusiastic client base, etc. Then if poor management lets it down, no amount of work can fix it.

Like letting the old bus run out of oil and driving it up Mount Kosiosko hoping it will be alright on the way down. Well maybe you may never see the top.

"Ahhhh grasshopper, I have seen the true enlightenment"

Rob.
After your recent dealings thats why I asked.
