Hey all, I dont know if anyone has done these before but I have been having this thought for a while now. Its prob not a new one, but here goes.
Right, what I propose is a series of small swap meets at peoples houses or a park etc. Maybe coupled with a BBQ and a small drinkie.
We could do one a month, It would prob help a lot of people, me included shift and swap some stuff. After all Im sure Im not the only one with a garage of stuff.
Everyone could bring along their crap and meet other fellow Brissy dubbers at the same time.
These will happen after Dubs of course, no point beforehand.
So let me know if you are interested. And we can take it from there.

Im thinking that they would need to be rvsp and a maximum of people invited, as I know my place cant cope with 500 people, lol.
Im thinking of organising the 1st one on the southside, in holland park, there is a nice public park there, with council provided bbq's, at least there we can get a few more people along for a feed and a swap.
Anyone else interested in that? Might do it in early March.

ive thought about that too, sort of like a vw garage sale/swap a good way to get together and check out what sort of shed everybody has and gather ideas for yours etc
anyone want to have one on the northern rivers of nsw?

Sounds like a good plan to have an informal bbq/get together without having to join a club or anything - having it in park or something would be cool.
Not to dampen the idea, but maybe one every two or three months would be easier to organise, get a better turnout and give people a chance to sort through their unwanted stuff rather than one a month?? Just a suggestion, I'd probably be keener for one per quarter for example just because me weekends are always so tied up.

Every few months sounds better also, might be a lack of numbers otherwise!

What about saying it could be the first Sunday of every new season.....that's every 3 months (gives everyone time to clean out the shed/garage)
Another place on SOuthside is the Seventeen Miles River Park....has water play area for kids and everything.

could hold at my place will fit around 40 ppl,, can have BBQ,,,spa and lots of little drinks, and a few can bring sleepin bags if they have to many little drinks....depends how many u expect to come ..................colleen

Good idea - an excuse for a cruise, yak, BBQ and raid each other's box trailers full of junk in the carpark!
You will need to be very careful with rubbish etc being left behind - ie: don't display on the grass. Only in vehicles😉

sounds like a good idea!!and iit would be great to put a face to all the people from the forum from the surrounding area.im also abit of a hoarder but id love to get out for a bbq and a few cold ones and just talk vws😉should put one together in brissi within the next 4 weeks because im leaving soon:o
