DIY-DUB ·

good luck finding some rust free

You can get rust free running boards brand new from, I'd imagine, any decent VW shop.

they make a couple of em too, like german ones and brazillian ones. the difference being the german ones are usually better quality than the brazill ones

bugeyedbabe ·

hey,

I just the prices today for black running boards...new was only $80/pair.

The shiny bling bling ones are about $130/pair

Check it out. I doubt the vw shop where u are would be much different (im in brissy).

Go for german, better quality and a decent affordable price

There are many different quality when it comes to running boards...
Naturally German made ones are the best - the thickest steel and the strongest and last the longest...

I did happen to buy a few years ago at the VW Nationals a pair of Heavy Duty Brazillian running boards....
Anyway.. I have them on, and I can actually stand on them...
[75kgs] but the BIG problem is finding which is good Brazillian and poor Brazillian and bloody terrible brazillian parts....
Most other Brazillian ones bend when You lean Your arm on them....
Its a shame there isn't a GOOD Brand of brazillian parts that We could look for.... But it seems there isn't... there are heaps of factories down there.... plus Mexican ones too....
