that'd be absolutely beautiful to build one and set it up for a sleeper cabin inside for camp'n!!
i pulled a trailer up to mount colo on the t3...and the trailer is heavier than usual 450kg's unlaiden....(home made) but the t3 did it, struggled a little though...
this little tear drop would have to be light as to be pulled easily...
but i am seriously thinking now...gonna tell me dad bout this one when i get to tassie...couple of months 😀

There was a bloke that used to go to all the hot rod and car shows, sellin T shirts and stuff, he had a home built teardrop, aluminium with customline side trim and moon windows! It was towed by a ford V8 I used to have pictures but I lost them with the old puter!

This site has got some excellent free plans and info

http://www.angib.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/teardrop/tear00.htm

speedster356 ·

Oh no, I wish you didn't post that link😉......I just need another day to finish the car trailer for the Spyder then I think it's into it. Brushed aluminium teardrop with split window in the rear for something different.

stephenianjames ·

that site is pretty awesome..it inspires you to design your own rather than build one to someone else's design

Stanley ·

I found a website that has a pdf of the original 1947 popular mechanics plans.

http://www.socalteardrops.com/

I to will be getting plans I've done some research over the past few days and in my opinion the desert TD seem to look the best.

heres a direct link
