ColumBUS 路

oky doky ladies and gents, click on the ebay link to find what i have labelled possibly the ugliest Hebmuller wannabe ever

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10781&item=7130153423&rd=1

paint is awful, as is crushed velvet interior. you would think that someone trying to remake a hemuller would start with an early model, not a superbug! :repuke:repuke:repuke:repuke:repuke

what are your thoughts?

pod 路

with a little tidy up ,paint and some wheels it would be something different:blah:blah:blah:blah but everyone to their own thing馃檪

ColumBUS 路

hehe u know im all about doin my own thing... but that just aint my thing at all...

jonno-t3 路

true...and at the end of the day...it isnt your car.
personally, i think it looks kinda cool. paint is ok...and the pink is a bit loud...but the whole feel of the car is pretty cool

jonno

Starbug 路

i actually dont mind it... is it a wizard kit? looks alot more retro than the usual wizards

but yes, the interior is in poor taste, but you can fix that.

Bizarre 路

I think one problem it suffers from the "pooey nappy" look.

Wack a set of lowered struts on it and a set of decent wheels and it would look totally different

"It received a refurbished 1600cc engine from Vintage VW," - hope he doesnt think it is a twin port. Last pic says otherwise

Still - for $1200 it is a good project

BenettonVW 路

:puke

I'm with you young fella..

I am for each to their own and to find positives with everything, but god damn.. that thing is all types of wrong..

Menangler 路

Not happening for me either :puke

Freddie Fender 路

Has potential. Needs Fluffy dice though!!!

bugeyedbabe 路

okay,

my son loved it...But i think that is just ebcause he is fed up of the body work on his at the moment.

And think of this....

Remove seat covers.
redo seat with champagne sheep skins all round.
Cream top (hey it was wrecked anyway) so replace with cream one..
Polish it up
Clean engine, add some bling bling.

and WOW..a nice piece a machinery we will see advertised again for about $5K instead. either that or it might just win a new catagory at next meet...most unusual mod...lol

Either that or totaly change it to look like "noddys' car. At least then the kiddies would love it.

cheers

I agree with bugeyedbabe. It has potential, if you picked it up cheap enough, with a few tasteful mods it would look good.

akean1 路

it looks like an ugly baby, kinda cute in a weird way. those pink door trims are deffinatly nasty. like making your kid wear a worn out pink velour turtle neck.

baybuscamperkid 路

definite potential. redesgn the tops of the doors, clean up the shape of the front where the guards meet the front, shape the bonnet to have a smoother lower section, re-design the dash and get rid of teh velour and it could be a very cool car.

Che Castro 路

its so so... not as bad as most chop tops, and not as bad as the Poraga body kits 馃檪

doesnt do it for me

kroozzn63 路

no no no im open to all things but when something is chopped at the windscreen like that its all over for me "however the value is there for the ah, maybe the motor and some bits and pieces

flamingbugster 路

That is definately not a 73 superbug. I have a 73 roadster conv (dash and curved windscreen) that dosnt. Poor little bug. I agree though, spend some spoondalies on it and maybe it might look better. RIP

ColumBUS 路

nah its not a 73, probably a 70-72 s bug.

i also have the L bug

Che Castro 路

I dont like sardine can convertibles but I do really like chop top dub rods. now that is cool

VDU.88A 路

nice set of rims and a fresh paint job would look cool

BUGBOY 路

I put a lot of blood and sweat into this car!
It took me ages to built and you don`t see me saying anything about your car do you.
:o:o:o:o:o:o:o

Oopps you talinh about that green thing?
Sorry:duh

I say its a one off, but its cool!

phantom 路

I can't access ebay here at work, the auction finishes today, can anyone tell me how many bids are now against it and the $$?

twoguns 路

no bids, yet.

are the guards real or glass? it has the shrarpened corners. looks to me like its trying to imitate an mg or the like...
even had the bottom of the nose squared off.

You people are a bunch of crumb-bums ragging on my little Beetle like that. I've a good mind to pull it off eBay and keep it, so you'll all miss out. That'll save me at least from crying like a baby when someone takes it away :-(

Ok, I take no responsibility - it was like this when I bought it and I've been too lazy to change anything. The red velour is pretty tacky, but it's kind of grown on me. The green paint job's not so bad though.

FYI - It really is a 73 Super Bug - the chassis number, and every VW mechanic who's looked at it confirms this. The curved glass came later in 73....

The guards are real metal, but some of the rear section, including engine bay lid, is fibreglass.....

Patrick.

A lesson to us all? You never know who's watching.
