Anthiron,
The 1600 Super was a 75bhp engine as opposed to the 1600 Normal which was 60bhp. A later version called the 1600 Super 90 which had, you guessed it 90hp.
The most powerful equivalent Volkswagen engine of this era was 36hp.
Supers were a special order item.
I reckon this engine is a bargain! If my 356 didnt still have its original engine I'd be buying it for sure!
Cheers
Steve

Is the swap straight forward. I heard there is clearance issues and throttle problems? can you confirm this for me,and what is involved in the swap? Have a '61 beetle. thanks.
