Beach Buggies in Broome WA

G'day,
Drove 900ks to Broome for the weekend and found a bloke who has just built 6 Beach Buggies to use as hire cars. He has 2 short wheel base (one is a Manx) and 4 long wheelbase, the bodies for these he made himself and look good. He will be operating as Cable Beach Buggies. I told him I was just going around the corner to hire a car for the next day while my truck was getting the aircon fixed and he said just come and take the Beetle Roadster (what could I say), so you find nice VW people all over Aus.
Saw 2 other buggies in town also and a couple of Beetles and was told of a splitty that gets around there as well. Not bad for a small town.

Man, when I was there I saw bay window kombi's everywhere. Town was packed for the "stairs to the moon"

Yeah sorry, saw a few Bays in town as well plus 4 Bays at the Dump, but the dump guy is into VWs a bit so hard to get bits off them.

hmmm.... reminds me I should carry my camera with me everywhere I go. I'd love to have seen pictures of the hand made buggies.
