I posted just before the Great Crash of 05 that writer Hunter S Thompson had died.
Although i dont condone the use of drugs.... certainly not in amounts that make Ozzie look like a boy scout.
hunter certainly was a good writer.
Hells angels and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas were enjoyable and Fear and Loathing on the Campain Trail was enlightning
Still..... i find this and interesting way to have your ashes disposed of
"US author Hunter S Thompson, who committed suicide last weekend, wanted to exit this world in a style befitting his extraordinary life: being fired from a cannon, a friend revealed today."

R.I.P..i loved him
Bizarre ·
Hunter was a man of many talents
He was The Duke in Doosbury
He wrote from
Hells Angels - a live account of the Angels and Sonny?? in 67
Fear and Loathing in Los Angeles - a drug induced road trip
Fear and Loathing on the Campain Trail - Carters Campain
The main/original political writer for Rolling Stone
and a heap of others
A great interview with Nixon after Watergate when he was on the chopter getting kicked out - as long as they talked only about football
His mate was Ralph Steadman - who did drawing for Pink Floyd on the Wall
As well as being a drug induced weirdo he was the grand father of " tell it as it is" jurnolism. Wite it down as it happened - be it riding with the Angels, 10 trips of acid, a war zone or a political situation
Love him or hate him he was influential(sp?)

what a loss, I have some of his essays on motorcycling too, well worth the read.
I propose a toast.
To hunter and may all of his experiences live on....
