I get my Superbug back from the panel beaters next Friday... Can't wait! After looking at all these Beetles I have noticed that some have the Volkswagen/VW badge on the hood of the car... whereas a lot of them dont. This usualy seems to be the case with superbugs...
So my question is, why do some beetles have the badge and some don't?
And also if somebody could please outline the differences between a Superbug and a Beetle, I would appreciate that also.... Thanks!

man car companies put badges on then take them off and then mess around for the fun of it, so thats why there are differences... as for the differences between your beetle and other beatles its best left for the experts, all i know is that your is a macpherson strut front whilst the other types (excelt Lbug) are king pin and link... good luck..

the superbugs have a mc pherson strut front end. the shocker towers fix into the front of the body instead of relying solely on the pan. the nose curves under more then standards, wich means you cant swap front guards with different years easily. they are also a little wider at the front

I think that the badge thing is a matter of personal taste. Some people like the fully original look and will go with the badges and some like the smooth look and choose no badges or no chrome shiny bits.

Originally it looks as though they (badges) were there, but some ppl take them off, they can be stolen, or some ppl just keep them when selling as a 'badge' of honor
I have 2 supers, and one has it, and the other was taken by the previous owner (as badge of honor, she had it 33 year, so I can't blame her) You can see where it used to be.
Main difference in supers look is short fat front, curved right under. Mcpherson struts at front, for mechanics.
Also, if u make major mods, the purists won't be upset....they don't consider changing a super as the cardinal sin u hear about when someone changes an early oval.
Hope u enjoy the super.....I love mine....and they're not even on the road again....

the badges came on standard bugs, too, yes? mine has a badge and i am certain it is not a super.
