Mate as a Baja owner you just hit the nail on the head when you said TRY you know you will never beat the towd in a baja. :thumb😉

buggys are for driving the hot shiela up the street (in more way then one)😀
Baja Wes ·
In traffic a buggy has all the disadvantages of a motorbike - no luggage capacity, you get wet, you get cold, you get hot, you get sunburnt, if you hit a landcruiser your probably going under it.
But they have none of the motorbike advantages. Instead they have the disadvantages of a car, slow (relative to a motorbike), crap economy (again relative to a bike), can't split traffic, can't park for free in the city etc.
Me, I'd rather have my motorbike and my Baja.
As for the buggy being for the Sheila up the road, I reckon my Baja gets more attention from the girls than any buggy would 🙂

I don't know why every one has so much trouble with space in a buggy. I can pack more into my buggy than into my beetle without sacrificing comfort.
I don't get burnt. i have a hardtop on mine, and i still get the wind in my hair:P

Buggies don't rust
(Buggy still has metal floorpan but heaps less hidden rust-friendly spots. Most Bajas rust in the body like doors and pillars not the floorpan / suspension)

We have 11 buggies used as daily or every second day drivers within 20mins from each other.
we only have 3 baja's soon to be 4

If ya car's that good.... Put it up...
If Not, Buy a Baja...
You know you want to...
Just thinking of it as this:
"A Baja is a Buggy, that's reached Puberty and moved on"...😎

but if someone said to you i will give you a off road vw and you can choose between a baja and a manx what would you choose?
i would say most people would choose a manx
but that doesnt mean bajas suck.

sorry but i dont understand that kind of dribble... 😉 afterall the platforms are the same. so really anywhere you go i can go. any where a subi powered beastie baja goes, then the equivialant equiped buggy is gonna do it too. the diff is the buggy is gona do it in better style, asthetically. :thumbMUD BASHING ANYONE ?? wrote:Better than any baja hay now that sounds like a challenge ah well no really any time you buggie guys want to go offroad and not just hard sand dunes stuff like where wes is in the first shot i would take you but i sold my baja but give me a few months and ill be back and keen and then we will see how good these so called invincable buggys are:vader
my last trip to stockton turned sour after a road death at bulledelah. i tried goin the back way but not much luck, but i did snatch pull assist an ols couple in a ea falcon slippin and sinkin in mud. made to be used and abused!😎

i am a baja man my self but any vw that goes off road and kicks arse on the tracks and shows the 4WD boys the REAL way to go is bloody ace !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now maybe we could have some fun witht his and on the next big meet off the offroad boys a little challange to see who can do what with beer as a prize and a bloody good laugh for all???
come on its a laugh no matter what we drive...
oh this is my old baja doing what bajas do best 😀

And for all those that talk about daily driver buggies, my Baja has been for only car for 10 years. So don't tell me that "some local guys use their cars as daily drivers" :P
Granted I use the bike as daily transport, can't argue with 4.5L/100km fuel economy and 0-100kph in 3.9s 😀

ah. even though this is just my OPINION i sorta meant Australia or world wide.
I just mean that, what would you rather leave at night at a train station or at a party?
VDUBXTC ·
vw's are all the same when it comes to security so i would still take my buggy .
my green one i leave on the street all the time now. it hasn't moved any where.

The arse end is now 1" wider than it was originally,
Just got to stop the fuel from spraying all over the engine now:duh.
I knew i shouldn't of sent the red one up to QLD so soon:cry

oh well, here is a pick of my green tub.
Not looking to healthy in the pic though
ancientbugger ·
They're better anyway😀

I'm actually building a Baja now. Although it will never live in my stables, it is using all my spare buggy parts.
I owned a yellow and red Baja as my first vw and have often thought about buying or building another, but the fibreglass buggies apeal to me more.
