I have just bought a split kombi of ebay which has a mother of a sunroof cut into the roof (approx 1.2m X 1.2m). The existing sunroof is a clip-on style and the vinyl top is ratshit, so I'm looking at a form of replacement.
My first question is, do the britax/golde style sliding sunroofs come in a size of approx 1.2m square? It doesnt neccessarily have to be vw specific, but I'm looking at something to suit.
My second question is do you guys reckon I should weld in a section of roof to make it original?
Any other tips or suggestions would be much appreciated!

section of roof would be easiest, but ragtop would be by far the coolest.

ah, weld it back up, sunroofs leak, leaks cause rust, rust destroys splitties 🙁

If its NOT origional WELD it back up.... go buy a 6 x 4 sheet of steel.
Find a good panel beater .... hahahahaha

After market stuff never works!
See if you can pick up a rusted out kombi for the roof.
