Would prefer if I could sell the whole thing in one bit, but am prepared to seperate.

Its a type 3 swing axle rear end converted to IRS. Why? Because its much better to have the frame forks giving you extra support for the engine. Reduces chance of tramping and also saves standard engine hanger mounts which can tear out with hi performance engines. Its been fully welded all the way around for more strength. Poly bushes stop it moving around on the body. The diagonals have been gusseted to stop them flexing under hard cornering. Inside the torsion housing are BIG custom made torsion bars. Pretty sure they are 29mm. Under hard cornering I was bottoming out the so called BIG type 3 wagon bars. The brakes are modified EA or EB falcon. They are a completely hassle free bolt on, and set up for 4 stud wheels. The sway bars are whiteline units, and 4 adjustments. I will provide setup info, depending on which set of torsion bars you buy with it 馃槈 The KONI shocks are adjustable also.

For the IRS and bushes (without any torsion bars) I want $250
For the brakes I want $500
Sway bars $125 each
koni hydraulics $125 pr.
29mm torsion bars $400
type 3 wagon bars $150

The diagonals, rear sway bar, rear shocks, brakes will fit a beetle.

Oooooh I also have a very good, very clean, type 3 front end with the top arms bent in for more camber. Its fitted with standard type 3 brakes, with the smaller calipers. I think. Make offer.

Keep thinking of more! And a quicksteer. Reduces turns lock to lock by about 30%.

Will the quicksteer fit a type 1?

amazer 路

Ummm I think it will. I will try to check it out tomorrow.

I should give elaborate fitting instructions though. When I fitted it to my type 3 I had to do some careful massaging of some inner body work (belted crap out of it with big hammer) for extra tie rod clearance on one side. Not sure if you would have to do that on a type 1 or not.

Chris,
when you say that the brake setup'll fit a type 1 rear end, are there any mods that need to be done for mounting?
Am very interested.

From reading your post I assume the front swaybar won't fit a type 1 beetle, BJ iRS pan from a '68??
cheers
