The seat mounts have not been butchered and it has no rips, and is securely mounted.. As for bigger photos, not without going over the forum limit..
As for whether the seat would fit a 76 Kombi- it is out of a Type 1 (Beetle) and luckily I dont have a kombi to compare, but from memory they are a different slide mechanism which would put the type 1 seat too high in a kombi- but I have been wrong before..
I had it in the beetle until recently and it was comfy.

If it was in a beetle then it will not fit into a kombi without modification. The kombi runners are completely different to the beetle ones.
