WTB - BNE - Type 3 rear sub-frame (bare).

MikeM ·

Hi,

I'm chasing a Type 3 rear sub frame completely bare, no training arms etc. It can even have the pivot boxes cut off if someone who has done an IRS conversion has one lieing around.

have a use for the yoke part (the part that goes forward under the type 3) for a project so the rest of the assembly can be buggered.

If anybody can help let me know.

Thanks

best to send me a u2u

ive got a bent one for ya !

A bent one would be fine but it needs to be in Brisbane, Shipping one from Vic would cost to much.

Hmm... I was chasing a complete rusty type 3 for the similar thing (rear end).
Not sure what I can get the whole car for but if cheap enough I can wreck and you take rear end, share the cost of buying the car.

I know Mick has a few stripped type 3 body's, don't think he'd want much just for that bit if you cut it out.

This picture shows the section of metal I am chasing. Basically just the Y on the front.

Did you try Mick's?
What are you willing to pay for it? (re-above)

Very little. The part I am chasin is basically a useless part that everyone throws out after using a type 3 rear end for an IRS conversion on an early beetle.

If you only want that piece, cant you use a swinger as well? Im not in BNE and dont have one, but maybe some people arent looking in here cos you have IRS in the subject.

Thanks for the head up. I have no idea what a early type 3 rear end looks like. If it has the same yoke part then one of them will do.

Andy ·

If that's the case, wouldn't Custom have some?
I'll chase up the type 3 I know of and see what he want's for it.

This is a swing axle version. Probably slightly different near the torsion bar housing..

Got one here in Sydney but shipping would kill it
