I am from Ipswich and it would be great to organise people to meet up and convoy it down to Klubfest this year! So any VW's around Ipswich or Brisbane area we should arrange a meeting point halfway..who would be in for that?

Hey I am still wanting to know who here is from ipswich/Brisbane/Gold Coast and wants to meet up and convoy it down! We could meet on the Ippy motorway at the BP station just past Goodna? Anyone have any suggestions?

It's not that far for a decent convoy, and we're all hopeless last minute freakout types, so don't get your panties in the proverbial. It's more fun to just drive with these central events, and see people by chance. The informal "howdy stranger" convoy as it were.
Tazz'll go with you probably if your desperate. For most of us, Goodna is in the opposite direction. How many other Ipsnatchians are there on here anyway???
BTW - you're travelling north east, so it's technically not down.

How about if a group gets together from Ipswich that travels along the Cunningham, turns onto Granard rd at Rocklea, then traverses across to the Mt gravatt/Caplaba Rd. So long as the group meets up and sets off from somewhere in Ipswich at around 0900 to make it to Dinmore (where the Cunningham and the Warrego meet) at say 0915, that way if we travel at the speeed limit (80km/hr) people who know the route can wait along it and join up as we go.
You see, for me I would catch the ferry over and wait just past the on ramp feed at Riverview about 0900 just to make sure I caught the group.
I figure with Sunday morning traffic being slim, except for around churches, it should only take about 10 minuntes to Rocklea, then about 15 mins to upper Mt Gravatt, and another 10 mins to Capalaba and the site.
That way I figure we would make it to the site around 0950, pleanty of time to sit and chat before they open the gates.
Why get there early you ask?
Because I have never heard of traffic letting people get soemwhere early, only later...
thoughts anyone?
(as for me, I am hoping that both my type three will be driveable and that I will be allowed to drive by that date)

Yep, I'm always up for a cruise. I'll probably be going at this stage, like Fossil I'll be heading down the gateway from Brissy Nth Side if anyone wants to meets up.
Bit out of your way though Foxy unless you want to get there the long way.

Kafer 69... come down Old Cleveland Road from the Gateway heading towards Cleveland.
Go though Chandlers past the Sleeman Sport Complex set of lights and stay in your LEFT LANE (outside lane) then keep going straight ahead. DO NOT TAKE the Moretan Bay Road Exit
then you will go past a Woolworths Petrol Station through the next set of lights ... staying in your left lane.. CROSS the Tingalpa Bridge and take the next side road on the left... you can not MISS IT...
Going to be well sign posted also.... keep an eye out for white signs with big VW symbols on them as well as big black arrows on them

Entry fee goes into a variety of things... the prizes, printing, banners, hire of equipment for the show..... advertisements through the news papers, stationery for the day such as stickers for the windscreens, paper for the voting & registration forms, signs and hmmmmmmm at the moment that is all i can think off.
But i can assure you that we have a lot on offer for everyone for the day..
We have the Lions coming with the Sausage Sizzle, Expresso Coffee so we have coffee and hot chocolates, Ice Cream Van, Fully Licenced area for alcoholic drinks and Kiosk..... lots of under covered areas. For the kids we also have a jumping castle and the parks play equipment. Domino's Pizza are coming down to hand out vouchers on Pizza's and stuff aswell as much much more

Hey Kafer,
All VW's are invited to park within the grounds, in the section your car would be shown under, whether you wish to enter the show or not. The more cars we all get to see, the better!
We also noticed that there were heaps of cars parked outside last year and would like them to 'come on in' this year.
Don't think that your car is not show quality, believe me, mine isn't! But at least you get good parking :kiss
