I picked up a VW motor today with the numbers 021.119.225A on the couling. I've got no idea what type of moter it is. I suspect it's a type 4. But some of you guys would probably be able to let me know.

Regards,
Mark

It's possible your engine is police stamped and therefore not vw related. i.e. at some point some one got a blank case. Post a pic and someone could tell you for sure.
