i find this thread offensive! take it down imediately!

just kidding, im after flared rear guards, nothing more. although a row of whale tails would make an interesting bar...

ruckus ·

Man... you've changed.

I just don't know you any more :thumb

pod ·

hope you have wheels to fill the guards

ColumBUS ·

hehehe i have my plans dont you worry pod...

SKEWtYpe3 ·

do a double whale tale set up !

that would look killer !

DO IT !

:beer

DIY-DUB ·

cant get any uglier

bugboymatt ·

Umm.......... not much to say to that......

ColumBUS ·

what drunken buffoon came up with that bodykit?

baybuscamperkid ·

the whaletail would make an awesome looking sink😎

Fossil ·

SUX in a word (the green one) :repuke

SKEWtYpe3 ·

the green car is owned by the guy that invented the whale tale, its his ultimate !

KIKKO can u keep his dream alive !

its in your hands now :P

ColumBUS ·

first modification: a big FOR SALE sign

SKEWtYpe3 ·

notice how many body kits are for sale but dont get sold, coz of obviouse reasons of asthetics and that the 80's come back didnt include cars, looks like this guy bought them all and dropped some acid then went to work with a 50kg bucket of glass resin and an angle grinder..............:repuke

twoguns ·

hey kikko. go the split and widen on the original guards. will look way better than that ugly flared guard shit *sigh with the thought, i have to add.... in my opinion, and probably many others also 😉*. you jsut cut the guard down the middle and then insert a 50mm strip. this way you can get the phat look, the clearance in the guards, but still keep the smooth rounded shape of your guards.

did this front and rear in the pic below. you can see how far the guards protrude beyond the running board. gave it a great look.

pyr0 ·

or buy my bettle which has flared guards, that have been done exactly how twoguns described 😉

ColumBUS ·

dude you know i cant afford ur beetle!
but id be willing to buy the guards separate...

ruckus ·

Man TG that looks awesome. Is it hard to do?

twoguns ·

not when you had 'hairy harris' doing your ride! :thumb

E ·

i think i should take more offense at this post...

akean1 ·

hey kikko, if you come acros a cheap set, im only after the fronts. would go you halvies if we could find a cheap courrier

SKEWtYpe3 ·

E u also have double bump gaurds, dont get us started on those ............................... !

ColumBUS ·

meh they look good when done properly like E has done.
his wheels fill the guards!
what he does need to do is slam it down low! and slap some whitewalls on that sucker!

ruckus ·

Kikko I think you're blending your genres a little too much there:repuke

empi ·

Soon it will look like this.

ColumBUS ·

nothing worng with a bit of blend... just look at dasdubbers project. part german, part cal look, 100 % beauty!

akean1 ·

dont be scared to mix shit up, pick what you like and do it:alien

ColumBUS ·

amen akean!

yeah but no flared guards!.

VDUBXTC ·

Nothing wrong with the ol humpy Guards.
I use to have them on my old 64 Beetle.

Was that green Beetle concocted in a laboratory where someone put a bit of Lamborghini DNA and spliced it into a Beetle and grew the whole lot in a petri dish?

Kinda like the mouse with the ear growing on it's back.

It would look a lot better if you extended the kit to include the roof, doors, bonnet, guards and squashed the whole car to 1/3 of it's original height.

71superbug ·

WOAHHHH EASE UP TURBO!!! wait u prolly dont have one.

haha

nah think flared guards CAN look good. that green beetle is pathetic. but a subtle flare just so that you can fit some wider rims underneath them is a good option in my opinion.
