Just a tip. When you fill the drive system fill the reduction hubs FIRST, then the gear box.
It would also pay to add a good oil addittive as insurance especially if you havn't had the hubs and reduction boxes overhauled.

80 - 90 gear oil, don't use additives.

eeew that's engine oil!!
Thanks Dave Becker - that's what I thought, just checkin'

Use gearbox oil in reduction boxes, 80-90 as Dave said or 90-140 is what I used.

Hypo 80- 90 grade.... make sure you fill the reduction boxes as well dont rely on the oil to run down the axle tubes.

Ops, yeh, it is 80 or 90 gear oil but I still think the additive is worth it. I put some in and now 2nd gear is smoother and the noisy bearing in the reduction hub is .......well..................not so noisy! I am not in a such a hurry to put in the spare overhauled gear box and hubs now!😉

yep, I wil drain the hubs and the box and fill all three separately. If they are stupid noisy, I might try an additive... but only if I have to
country dubber ·
Remember to fill the reduction boxes first!
If you fill the gear box first some of that oil could drain into the hubs and leave the gearbox low on oil.
This happened to me and I only realised what happened because I measured the required oil for the hubs and could not get it all in with out over flowing.
