i use it... more user friendly

andrewh · 23 Mar 2005, 5:39 pm

Your best bet is to download it and give it a try. I like it a lot, but even after trying to convince the rest of my family to switch over, I'm still the only one that uses it.

You may find some sites don't work quite right though (a fault of the site rather than the browser), but these are pretty rare (I've encountered only two, and both were internal to the companies I worked for at the time).

wacked1 · 23 Mar 2005, 6:14 pm

i use it and love it, no more auto downloads like IE

bugboymatt · 23 Mar 2005, 6:22 pm

I have heared it is supposed to be more secure than IE ! Anyone know if this is true !!! plus java work normally !!! it seems to not like my IE at the mo!! Or maybe i neeed to change some settings !!

andrewh · 23 Mar 2005, 6:35 pm

At least one of the reasons it's more secure is that it wont run ActiveX controls like IE can (even without you knowing if you're machine is set up with very relaxed security).

Canni. · 23 Mar 2005, 6:38 pm

I use it for normal internet browsing... (cause it blocks popups) also like the tabs bit.. I use IE for some things like doing Uni web tests cause its more compatible..

wezley · 23 Mar 2005, 6:41 pm

I use it, love it! 😉 fast browser and you can add any extension you want.. 😉

toplessbug · 23 Mar 2005, 7:52 pm

same here ----so much beter than ie

killakornkobb · 23 Mar 2005, 8:36 pm

kanes IE.. needa re-DL it after formatting my machine🙂

zac_smits · 23 Mar 2005, 9:13 pm

firefox definately.

faster, more secure. more fun. more customisable.

noia 2 extreme theme, flashgot plugins and everything else i would ever need...

Che Castro · 23 Mar 2005, 9:24 pm

I like it too, although I prefer opera. More customiseable than firefox, although you have to pay for it (unless you crack it 🙂)

Only reason I would use IE is for stupid sites that dont accept anything else.

Firefox is slowly taking over though 🙂

Starbug · 23 Mar 2005, 9:34 pm

i must admit firefox is faster than safari... only just.
i dont use it (because i use safari) but my sister uses it and also uses the full mozilla browser...
i would use it but space is at a premium on my laptop until i get an ipod.... so i stick with safari.

anything is better than IE... IE is for those lazy sites who dont want to spend time coding a good site.

well worth the download.
