On good friday i was rear ended by a 4wd drive. My car is a 1974 red beetle, badly dented engine cover and leaked oil badly, not sure at this point of full damage done to engine. I need to know the best place to get the body and engine fixed on the southside of brisbane. I only have had my car three months and am not impressed but the other driver was at fault. can someone help me find places to get my baby fixed and back on the road.

same thing happened to me. got the car and then 3 months later, got rear ended. personally for mechanics, can't go past leons motors.

leons are great...in coopers plains...
mick motors also does some great work...
for bit and pieces...like engine lid...try crazy george.
everything new - well if leons and micks doesn 't have it, then classic vw(pacific) can help out...
but if u dont want to do it urself...not sure, depends on where u r....some great ppls in baldock st moorooka...but i can never remember their name (just their location.....not easy when explaining it to a towy, trust me!)
I am sure other ppls have others they can recommend as well...

thanks when my insurance company calls me i will let them know where i would like it to be taken to be fixed. Just as long as it can be fixed. i hate being without it.

dont forget to ring rodger at southside vw ,he is also excellent and is a wealth of information and will help anywhere possible ,he was featured in the last edition of vwma mag and has been associated with vw since his apprenticeship in south africa a long long long time ago

hey not to good about the wack.. :o hope all the occupants involved are mmmkay?
either leons or roger at southside are good at the mechanical side of it and close to where you are but not to sure about the panel side.. any ideas anybody?
just make sure insurance sends it to a rep. vw workshop and not some cheap ass servo mecnic that can fix anything... (just ask him!) just so they can save $1.50 on the payout...

my bug is currently at the smash repair place as of today, as far as i have been told it is fixable and am waiting for them to call and let me know when approxiamately i can have her back. Thank you to everyone for your help.

car was sent to highland smash repairs at salisbury, i couldn't convince them to take it to a vw place but as long as my car comes back in the condition it was before the crash i will be happy

highland are pretty good repairers, they have done my cars before, and if they say it will be ready on a certain day it will be,,,,you could probley go in and have a look at it ,,,,they let me go in to check on my car when it was there a few times
