I never got there this year but in the pics there is a cool looking kitcar. Anyone know about this. Is there a kit for sale or is it a 1 off?

I know a little bit about it, it's an old kit but not sure of the origin. It's on a type 3 pan but the body has been sectioned in various places to fit correctly. I didn't get to speak with the owner but I'll find out a bit more about it and post.

There was a company in Dandenong (Vic) that was making Lambo Countesses a replica of the Countash , It too used a type 3 floorpan, they were quite a good replica

i too would like to know what motor is in it.
i'm assuming it's vw of some sort, and i'm sure it's water cooled.

i aldo loved the vw caddy ute with big wheels and fancy motor!
i havn't seen a caddy in aus until then, is it imported?

kai (please excuse any typo's, im drunk)

It had an east/west toyota engine out of a turbo MR2.
pretty sure...definately saw toyota on the plenum chamber.
looked awesome.

this car had a celica gt4 motor according to rob the guy that owns it he's the sign writer that cruising car carpets used to share a workshop with in minto
he also has built a couple of neat 30s hot rods and a customised corrolla panel van with big flame job for his daily driver
with any luck hell move completely away from the dark side and get more into vws:vader

I offered the guy $22,000.00 to take moulds off it, he knocked me back. After returning home I've started scaling down the panels from a genuine drawing and will have these bodies available very shortly. This vehicle is bolted to a Type 3 floorpan, which I recommend to stay with, as you get your IRS and disc brakes. Any-one who would be interested in purchasing one of these may contact us through this forum and discuss price. This is probably the first practical conversion considering the dollars involved that I have come across. Top points to the people involved who built it.

This is a good looking car. I want one, but it is not really a replica.

Here is a diablo :

Notice the low scoops on the side and the curved lower windscreen. So I'm guessing this is what this kit car is trying to look like on but it's not really anything like it.

I'd say this body started life as a replica Contach and has been modified to look at bit more like a Diablo.

Here is a Contach

Notice the windscreen in the kit is similar to the contach as are the upper rear scoops and the boot lid area below the windscreen.

So This kit has had allot of modifications done to it I'd say. Definitely a once off. But a great looking beetle rebody, the best I've seen.

I'd say that this body started as one of those and has been modernised to look at bit more like a diablo.

Well, I'm very interested if they become a kit.
