Where have other people (and how) mounted their fog/spotlights when they have overider bumpers? It seems to make things a little more difficult... post pics if you can..

Cheers

Hey Chris,

When you refer to over riders, do you mean the little vertical over riders or the towel rail/horizontal bar? I've got fog brackets that might do the trick. Depends on the over rider.

Thanks for that Andy, but the over-riders (or towel rails) would get in the wayif I mounted it that close to the bumper...

Brad: - like you would've gathered now, it's the horizontal bars I'm refering to.. =) I had a look at yoru post regarding those shmik mounts you have, but I don't think they'llsuffice in my case...

Out of ~5mm aluminium flat stock, I made up mounts that clamped onto the bumper blade. By using a long bolt and notching the flat stock (to contour the bumper) I was able to obtain a very tight clamp without any movement (had them on for well over a year without any problems):

ignore the "headlight grills not included" sign - this pic was for when I was selling the old bug :o

hey Das, that's an idea to mount them in front of the over-rider... I didnt consider that... will now though Cheers!

heya typ-114 - I did think of clamping them to the towel rails, but I wanted a cleaner look.. thanks anyways!
