according to my rwc attempt i need front upper balljoints and thicker disks on the bus. i am hoping that my spare disks will be good, but what are the balljoints gonna cost me to get fitted? can any VW place do it?

kombi ball joints can be a pain in the arse i,ve had some that just wont come out and some just pop
you need to press them out and then press them in

but they are $30 each plus fitting

cool. that is alot cheaper then i had expected.

$$ for fitting is where the expence is, not in the parts. At a guess there's a good day's labour to fit them + a wheel alignment afterwards.
And like most jobs, while your spending big $$ to have the front end pulled appart you may as well spend a little extra and have all wearing parts replaced.
It's amazing how a little $30 part can suddenly becomes a $1000 job!!

Another option is to find two good ball joints on a wreck and just swap the top arms of the suspension. Still a big job to replace though.

MUD BASHING ANYONE ?? ·

Gold coast vee dub does them in the car and its really cheap they do it in an hour hour and a half tops but you will have to ask them for proper prices
