have u removed engine?
helicoils can be tapped and redone in an hour or less with engine installed

use a solid thread repair insert not helicoils on VW spark plugs. But yes, total piece of piss to fix.

Yes the engine is not in the car. Selling this engine cause i am upgrading my engine. Will run fine with helicoil

Is the engine an imported 1965 type or OZ production S?

i think it is an Oz produced S. not to sure tho. when i drove it, it had just as much power as the 1600tp i have. It didn't run all that well unless on on high octane so it is high compression

The OZ "S" had flat top pistons and was the same as the "N" version. There was only about 1 BHP difference between the 1500S and the 1600 engine. Have a look to see if it has the dome top pistons?
