not vw- 1968 one owner fairlane

Long story short, my 93 year old granny has passed on leaving the 1968 V8 fairlane she has owned from new needing to be sold.

White, perfect red interior, a little rust in bottom of the doors, easily fixed. 68k. totally original, even the original wheel trims. Literally owned by a little old lady for going to the shops and lunch on sundays! I think it is a 302, has the side by side twin headlights and is realllllly reallllly long!

I am looking for ideas on value and ways to sell it to get to a range of ford fans. Is there an Aussiefordforum????

There are many car heads on here that may be able to point me in the right direction. Definately dont want to toss it out for $500 to a dude with a set of centrelines and a doof doof box- granny would roll over and tell him to pi$$ orf

thanks heaps

kkk

4500 - 8000 if the door rust is minor.

Do a net search and you'll find businesses asking an absolute premium for this sort of thing! Old Holdens & Fords are sometimes listed at stupid prices like that $80K split advertised last week in the UK!
Should get good $ from an enthusiast, particularly with the history! 68k's in 36 years

is that the model with the full width rear lights (the long strip that goes across the boot?)? we used to have one of those, awesome beasts, vinyl roof and all. traded it in for something like $40 scrap before we knew better :cussing

sounds like you have a pretty nice classic on your hands there.if you dont want to keep it for yourself for sentimental reasons then try a websearch as mentioned above on ford clubs in aus as they will give you a good estimation on market value!!good luck if you decide to sell it...andreas😉

i grew up with one of these in our family. mum used to drive round town at 60 and for a long time wondered why it was a bit funny around the 100 mark. i took a trip to the local tip up here one day and when home said it was fine at 100, but if you went to 100mph it realy bounced around. little did i realise at the time taht my speed freak mum didnt take the klm/mph difference into account. always thought wrongly when she was hassled by the local policeman.

lololol my grand ada had told my Granny it had been 'fixed' to kmh

until a copper stopped her for speeding at about 87 yars old, let her off too!
