All those in one place, whats the occasion ?

Just changing the oil in the gearbox thats all. There are 3 more syncros in the back garden as well.In the pics there is one with 16" wheels, there are 2 on bribie both with front and rear diff locks and fitted with decouplers so its just 2 wheel drive on the road. Went up the tracks in one last week, very impressive.

Hi Southern, i have a 91 dual syncro (WA) because it is being used every day now as a work vehicle I have taken out the drive shaft, once upon a time i used the bus off road every day, now only on our annual surfari north. Then i fit the drive back.
How did you go about installing the disengager ?
cheers Kieran

There was a great display of 5-6 syncros from the Syncro club of Australia? at last weeks VW Jamboree in Melbourne, did anyone take photo's from that event??

Samba, I would keep doing what you are doing. Your viscous clutch will last forever. Most people fit a decoupler when the VC unit needs replacing. Most of the syncros that I have seen have over 200,000k on them.I think the decoupler costs the same as the VC unit ,more than $2000.The syncro camper that I have the VC unit works OK and if it ever needs replacing I would fit another.
