So is it? Would be cheap way to strip a car down wouldn't it?

Yes I think it would be, the benefits are it gets rid of all the old wiring, dash, paint, interior, etc etc. Just be prepared for the job of cleaning up, as it gets a bit sooty. My preferred fuel is petrol or trick photography.

Certainly would save a lot of time on the stripping down of a resto project....

i used a heat gun to remove old bumper paint (not the same extreme i know, but effective)

I passed a burnt-out car on the way to work today. The panels were buckled from the heat. So I don't think it's a very good idea.
