Our club, Volks Enthusiasts, had a run today to a rock and roll festval at Birdwood Mill, (car museum) and it ended up being Dave in his 75 bay, Pete Debiasi in his split single cab, me in mine and Rob in his Karmann Ghia.
So we had a bit of a kombi cruise happening.
Had a great day and its about time the kombi's out numbered the beetles.
It was great going to a show with all differant makes of cars, from Mini's, GT falcons, Caddy's to full on hot rods.
Some of there ideas and things they do to their cars are really interesting and makes us seem a bit boring.
What I mean is we seem to stick to the old faithful styles like Cal-look, resto, old school. look at the types of wheels VW owners use, if its not empi 5's or 8's its BRM's, Fuch's or a couple of other makes that every volksie you see has.
These hot rods use anything and make them really individual.
Not a whinge, just interesting to see things from other groups.

When I can organise some flyers.
There are 3 driving kombi owners from Adelaide that get on this forum, Dan, Dave F and me.
But there are hundreds of non members around Adelaide, so I have to some how get intouch with them.

Also how do you think the bus will look with red wheels????

I should have put large question marks after think.
As we dont think we are damm hot, we know it.
Nearly as hot as my battery got, I had replaced the regulator with a new one as the battery was boiling, it was letting too much power back into the battery, I thought I had fixed it, but I hadnt.
I will have to test the alternator this week.
Then as its off the road, I think I will fit a type 4 oil cooler and possibly look into a IRS from creative and some wide 5 disks.
So I am totally legal??

Hey Dave, Just had to say. You've been busting to do red wheels, well I reckon this would look right on yours. All red could be too much, but a bit of red would work well with your delux trim.

I am thinking of doing it, well I have since I first painted the bus, but havent had the time as I have been too busy driving it.
But I am taking it off the road for a while to do some suspension mods so I might just get round to doing it.
