what do you people with early bugs do when you put in belts? .. i think i want to keep the ones in that are there.... however the bolts for the high point go right through where the phores are, so i cant put them in (there where blinkers there when i got it) .... so where do you put the bolt? of just keep them as 'lap' belts? or no balts at all?...

My mate made some anchor plates that are put up inside the semaphore hole, you drill a hole in the pillar and you've got your upper mounts.
might be able to get him to make you some if you want?

I'd definately put in seatbelts..if you are in an accident in a beetle its not pretty to smash your face against the steering wheel (if only lap seat belt) or be thrown from vehicle (no seat belts) 3-point seat belt is definately the way to go.. Mine is drilled around near the semaphore position but I've seen some beetles where the anchor point is drilled in a little further down the pillar so not to interfere with semaphores.

yeah, want to keep the belts, for sure, will have a look at the points....

There's enough room for the bolt head and the semaphore then? Or does the bolt head sit below the actual blinker section of the lense? (furthur down the B-pillar?)

Nah, from memory I think the plate has a thread tapped in it, its sits up above the semaphore and a bolt is passed through the pillar into the plate.
It doesnt interfere with the semaphores.
