after being approached by a gentleman at a service station down the coast a couple of weeks ago , he informed me that one of his mates had 3 karmann cabriolets down the back of his property . yesterday I took the day off work and ventured down the coast to his mates property only to find that the cabrios had been sitting in a paddock for the last 10 years without their roofs . I felt sick to my stomach !! I wandered around the property to find as many as 30 VW's overgrown with bush . here are some pics . The owner wishes to remain anonymous , however I did do a deal to purchase the 3 cabrios .

Oh, wow, look at all the Type 3's. Any chance you could go back and get a list of the VIN, model, and location to add to the Type 3 Registry? We can block the last 3 digits if the owner prefers to remain annonymous. but it would be nice to get these 3's into the Registry, even if only as Parts/Scraped cars.

Looks like Tims collection. They aRE just down the road from me in Warriewood Valley On the northern beaches. Most of the gear there is crap and most is post 67, no splitties. He is an ex VW mechanic and is now quite anti VW as attested by the photos. I hope he has come down in price on those LHD cabs he seemed to have an inflated view of thier worth. He told me that he imported them from the states some years ago. I believe him and they have been sitting ever since.
I tried to get a early bay front end but he really is not that interested in doing anything but let them rust.
