ok so here it is she`s still got a 1200 motor and box but she looks the part!! ive put a dds shifter in it lowered the hell out of the front end its still got more!.
the reason i decided to do this car is to prove you dont have to spend big money to do the car up im only 17 and this is my first beetle i had a 72 type 3 but i didnt like the shape! heres proof you dont have to spend big $
car-$1900
wheels-$1000
shifter and t-bars-$100
and there it is one cool looking car! now for the motor and box

i have white brm`s!!! pick me
dan ive got 145 nankangs on the front with a stock beam no scrapige! and 165 80 yep nice n hi! on the rear.
i might lower the front a few more inches as the car has just come off the road i got a type 3 atm.
the plan is to fix a few dints little rust but i want it out!!
and then motor and box!! mmm 1835 twin webers cb heads all conected to a ranch box cant wait!!!!!

nice, don't have white brms but have chromed on the 58 and black for my single cab.. whites are nice. Definately Cal look. It looks like the centre caps are the bus centre caps.. they stick out a fair way.

yer the fronts are bus and the rear are beetle as the hub on the front sticks out tim i like the chrome brms but ive only seen another set of whites and they are on a red car in canada yuck!! oh and the back is staying how it is or it wouldnt be a true oldskool cal-looker with the back in the ground !!

yeah i need to breath for a while and i nearly got written off by a vt a few weeks back and dads not talkin to me as he wanted it but oh well what can u do?
i need a car that i can take all of my mates out in chuck all of my shit in and go away on a fishing trip for a weekend now you cant have all that in a beetle can you oh well its getting a respray a 1916 built box and so on so watch out for it!!
ive also got sum nice pics of it on the last day i drove her 75 actually im gonna get em enlarged and put on the wall so i can remember her i will miss her in a way but ITS ONLY A BEETLE so ill get over it also thanks for everyones help

Nice car....it was funny I was scrolling through the replies thinking of what to type. I was about to start saying that it is cool to see some younger crew getting into the vw scene and bypassing the fast and furious route.

nah at least 12-18 months off vw`s das as work is really picking up ie 50-60 hours a week so ill give it rest for sometime but ill still be on here boys ,girls and dave! so thats about it!

I can see why you would want a commodore it is roomy and has things like power steering, brakes , windows etc.
Also it is easy just to get in and drive, knowing that you will arrive at your destination.
Good luck mate and still hope to see you with your dad at the shows and club.

Granted commodores are roomy but they dont always go, the VP I had didnt, too many times I got a frustrated call from my wife after being stranded picking the kids up from school. Picking them up & taking them home got old very quick.
Its a shame you sold it mattie, the Bug was coming along really well but everyones got their reasons.
