splitty question for the gurus

this is bothering me and i dont know if its only a few buses that are using left hand drive cargo doors or is the recess in the rear cargo door there for looks on the rhd buses,its there to give clearance on the front door handle so i thought, i am left scratching my head wondering why is it there , i looked through some members ride pics and they all seem the same why??????? does anyone know?

i like learning new things thanks kombidog , so i suppose vw can be lazy at times, still seems strange that the aussie version or made buses did not get modified to suit the rhd version:duh
