Yeah i saw it yesturday i recon it misses his head by about 1/2 a foot, at speed! It would have buried him in the reef if it collected him!

Teahupoo - the most beautiful, thickest wave in the world. Saw an amazing pic in National Georgraphic a couple of years ago....this big thick wall sucking up off the reef, and about 100+ people just sitting on top of it watching the action. People going off with the shape of it. Will try and find the pic.
If you look near the top of the wave to the right of the wave runner, you can see the foot of the guy who bailed of the thing!:thumb

the driver should have ridden it out if only
for a good picture to show the kids( if he survives that is)

just caught it on the news he is one lucky blooke they also showed what the break can do to a jet ski going over the falls quite a mess

Yep the ski driver was pretty hard on himself saying he was an idiot for his mistake. Accidents happen but thankfully the dude (Tahitian surfer) wasn't killed - I am sure the driver will learn from his mistake. :duh

chelsea georgansons who's in the womans circuit mom lives here
anyway last yr she had wiped out there in the roxy pro & came home
with a lot of deep scratches the foam just slammed her across the reef
& when it was over she stood up waist deep thats too shallow for my liking

Only break in the world where the trough of the pit is below sea level. one serious break, pretty much the most savage on the pro surfing tour. looked at some graphs and diagrams of the reef and the wall into deep water, pretty amazing stuff.
Adrenalin would be goin nuts droppin in, wish i was good enough and had the balls to do it

that guy hadda died it would have cast a nasty cloud of fear for the surfers in the next comp coming up soon.
I know a young fella(wade goodall) who has got a wild card entry into this next Teaupu comp and also know two other Caloundra locals Serina brook and Joel parkinson and also the comp organiser Bush mitchell.
3 pro surfers from 1 small town......must be something in the water.
